Minutes of Complete Neighborhood Fabric

  1. Announcement by Toby regarding St Joseph's possible developers requesting input from task force members. Care should be taken to be clear that input is not endorsement. Eastern Neighborhood rezoning probably to be approved in November of this year.
  2. Vote on Cultural Preservation: Approved 7-1-0- by committee members and 2-1-5 by visitors.

Use the following approaches to preserving the community assets of the LGBTQ and Filipino communities:

    1. Develop  social heritage landscape including elements like plaques, historic walks or other architectural features
    2. Survey for  historic landmark buildings that may need to be classified as San Francisco Landmarks based on their social value.
    3. In order to keep all these communities in SOMA affordable housing is critical. Therefore to encourage the development of affordable housing projects that will have supportive services that will be geared to helping these specific communities.
    4. In order to keep these communities in SOMA policies should be developed to keep existing housing stock, which is more affordable and more flexible for their users.
    5.  Community benefits that are derived from projects should be put towards the support of and the retention of social heritage assets
  1. Heights: discussed the consensus of heights which include 40' in the alleys. looking at heights vs. displacement and preservation of existing housing stock. Assume higher heights along Folsom with something more variable on the larger lots. AND is working on maps and policies.

Next Meeting:

1. Discussion of reuse of warehouses

2. Lot aggregation

3. Develop criteria and program for open space.

4. Residential vs. Mix of uses
