Request for Architectural Review Committee comments on a proposal to replace aluminum windows with wood frame windows, add a metal awning across the facade, sign on Second Street and metal tank on De Boom Street, reconfigure roll-up door to a smaller opening and paint entire building.

At this time, members of the public may address the Landmarks Board on items of interest to the public that are within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Landmarks Board except agenda items. With respect to agenda items, your opportunity to address the Landmarks Board will be afforded when the item has already been reviewed in a public hearing at which members of the public were allowed to testify and the Landmarks Board has closed the public hearing. Your opportunity to address the Landmarks Board must be exercised during the Public Comment portion of the calendar. Each member of the public may address the Landmarks Board for up to three minutes. If it is demonstrated that comments by the public will exceed 15 minutes, the President or chairperson may continue Public Comment to another time during the meeting.
 

The Brown Act forbids a commission or board from taking action or discussing any item not appearing on the posted agenda, including those items raised at public comment. In response to public comment, the Board is limited to:

(1) briefly responding to statements made or questions posed by members of the public, or

(2) requesting staff to report back on a matter at a subsequent meeting, or

Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness for work necessary to meet seismic and accessibility requirements and for reroofing.

A five-story, brick industrial building, originally built in 1924. The subject property is Landmark No. 157, is zoned M-1 (Light Industrial) District and is in an 84-X Height and Bulk District. Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior alterations of a 9' x 7" high, 58 square foot generator located on the northwest side and roof-top of the building.

ONE CHURCH STREET, The Daphne Funeral Home, between Hermann Street and Duboce Avenue, Assessor's Block 874, Lot 14. The subject property is zoned NC-3 (Moderate-Scale Neighborhood Commercial) District and is in a 40-X Height and Bulk District. The proposed project would demolish the Daphne Funeral Home building and construct a new affordable housing development with 93 units, a child care center for up to 36 children, a community room, a computer learning center, and a small retail use. The proposed project would also include two levels of structured parking, totaling about 94 spaces. Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board review and comment on the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR), pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
