CHAIR'S REPORT AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
PUBLIC
COMMENT
At this
time, members of the public may address the Public Communication Committee
(PCC) on items of interest to the public that are within the subject matter
jurisdiction of the Landmarks Board. Public
comment made before the PCC may also be made before the full Landmarks Board
at any regularly scheduled public hearing. With respect to agenda items, your opportunity
to address the Landmarks Board will be afforded when the item has already
been reviewed in a public hearing at which members of the public were allowed
to testify and the Landmarks Board has closed the public hearing. Your opportunity to address the PCC must be
exercised during the Public Comment portion of the calendar. Each member of the public may address the PCC
for up to three minutes. If it is
demonstrated that comments by the public will exceed 15 minutes, the President
or chairperson may continue Public Comment to another time during the meeting.
The Brown
Act forbids a commission or board from taking action or discussing any item
not appearing on the posted agenda, including those items raised at public
comment. In response to public comment,
the Board is limited to:
(1) briefly
responding to statements made or questions posed by members of the public,
or
(2) requesting
staff to report back on a matter at a subsequent meeting, or
(3) directing
staff to place the item on a future agenda. (Government Code Section 54954.2(a).).

NOTE: Pursuant to Government Code ? 65009, if you challenge, in court, the

or Historic District designation, you may be limited to raising only those
issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this
notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Landmarks Preservation
Advisory Board at, or prior to, the public hearing.
NOTE: Material submitted by the public for Landmarks Board review prior
to a scheduled hearing, should be received at the Planning Department Reception
Counter, 1660 Mission Street, 5th Floor, no later than 5:00 p.m. the Tuesday
(eight (8) days) prior to the scheduled public hearing. Persons unable to attend a hearing may submit
written comments regarding a calendared item to the Board at the above listed
address. Comments received by 11:00
a.m. on the day of the hearing will be made part of the official record
and will be brought to the attention of the Landmarks Board at the public
hearing. Otherwise, submit material
related to a calendared item at the scheduled hearing for distribution. For complete distribution to all Board Members,
necessary staff and case/docket/ correspondence files, submit an original
and 18 copies.
CELL PHONE AND/OR
SOUND-PRODUCING ELECTRONIC DEVICE USAGE AT HEARINGS
Effective January 21, 2001, the Board of Supervisors
amended the Sunshine Ordinance by adding the following provision: The ringing of and use of cells phones, pagers
and similar sound-producing electronic devices are prohibited at this meeting.
Please be advised that the Chair may order the removal from the meeting
room of any person(s) responsible for the ringing or use of a cell phone,
pager, or other similar sound-producing electronic devices (67A.1 Prohibiting
the use of cell phone, pager, or other similar sound-producing electronic
devices at and during public meeting).

Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, Room 400, Fourth Floor, San Francisco,
CA. The closest accessible BART
Station is the Civic Center Station located at the intersection of Market,
Hyde and Grove Streets. Accessible
curb side parking has been designated at points along McAllister Street. Accessible MUNI Lines serving City Hall are
the 42 Downtown Loop, 9 San Bruno and 71 Haight/Noriega and the F Line. Accessible MUNI Metro Lines are the J, K, L,
M, and N which stop at the Civic Center and Van Ness Avenue Stations. For more information regarding MUNI accessible
services, call (415) 923-6142. American
sign language interpreters and/or a sound enhancement system will be available
upon request by contacting Dorothy Jaymes at (415) 558-6403, at least 72
hours prior to a hearing. Individuals
with severe allergies, environmental illnesses, multiple chemical sensitivity
or related disabilities should call our accessibility hotline at (415) 554-8925
to discuss meeting accessibility. In order to assist the City's efforts to accommodate
such people, attendees at public meetings are reminded that other attendees
may be sensitive to various chemical based products. Please help the City to accommodate these individuals.

274 BRANNAN STREET, The Hawley Terminal Building, north side between 1st and 2nd Streets. Assessor's Block 3774, Lot 93. A contributory building to the South End Historic District. Built in 1924, the reinforced concrete building was originally used for public storage, and is now primarily used as a telecommunications facility. The Hawley Terminal Building is rated by San Francisco Heritage. The subject property is within an SSO (Service, Secondary Office) District and a 50-X Height and Bulk District. Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to replace the storefront three bays in from the east with a fire rated wall and door.

112 LIBERTY STREET, north side between Dolores and Guerrero Streets. Assessor's Block 3607, Lot 43. A contributory building to the Liberty Hill Historic District. Built in 1884, this well intact two-story-over-garage Italianate structure was originally and is currently used as a single-family residents. It is within an RH-2 (House, Two-Family) District and a 40-X Height and Bulk District. Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to add a three story addition to the rear of the building, raise the house by 1.5 feet, and make other renovations to the front fa?ade.

532 MARKET STREET, northeast corner of Sansome and Market Streets. Assessor's Block 290, Lot 12. A one-story glass and steel building built in 1959. The subject property is City Landmark No. 183, is zoned C-3-0 (Downtown Office) District and is in a 500-S Height and Bulk District. Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to install two antennae.

1268-1270 LOMBARD, north side between Polk and Larkin Streets. Assessor's Block 500, Lot 15. A two-story, two-unit wood-frame early Victorian shingle-clad house. Consideration to initiate landmark designation of 1268-1270 Lombard Street as Landmark No. 229.
