- STAFF REPORT AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
Mark Luellen, Preservation Coordinator:
i On June 18th, Tim Brandt from the Office of Historic Preservation will provide a presentation to the Landmarks Board on the Secretary of the Interior Standards.
i The Landmarks Board hearing scheduled from July 2nd will be cancelled.
i On June 3rd, the Board of Supervisors will hear a resolution to re-establish the creation of a working group of interested neighborhood groups in response to the review of the General Management Plan for the Presidio Trust. Included in the resolution is an outline for the Planning Department to review and comment on the SEIS.
i The Golden Gate Suicide Barrier document should be issued by the summer.
- The Board of Supervisors initiated a charter change that would make the Landmark Preservation Advisory Board an independent body.

3. MATTERS OF THE BOARD
Cherny
He requested staff to inquire from School officials their plans for 135 Van Ness Avenue site (the structural damage caused by the fire and properly maintaining the site).
Martinez
Due to budget cuts the Planning Department will not be able to provide their portion of the budget, so the Planning Department has requested additional funding from the Preservation Fund Committee. The Committee will discuss their request at their next scheduled meeting.
Maley
She presented Board Member Street with a marriage gift.
- LANDMARKS WORK PROGRAM 2005-2007 UPDATE
None at this time.

All matters listed hereunder constitute a Consent Calendar, are considered to be routine by the Planning Department, and will be acted upon by a single roll call vote of the Landmarks Board. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a member of the Board, the public, or staff so requests, in which event the matter shall be removed from the Consent Calendar and considered as a separate item at this or a future hearing.

463 JACKSON STREET, Assessor's Block 0196; Lot 017, at the corner of Jackson and Hotaling Place, the subject property is City Landmark #20, the Hotaling Annex-West Building and is a contributing structure to the Jackson Square Historic District. It is located within a C-2 (Community Business) District with a 65-A Height and Bulk limit. The proposal is a Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to recover an existing awning canopy at the retail entrance and for new tenant signage.
Recommendation: Approval.

Assessor's Block 0641, Lot 003 - Request for a Certificate of Appropriatenessto construct a one-story glass conservatory with a two-car garage below at the north wall of the subject building; to modify the existing driveway, landscaping, and fencing; and to alter openings at the basement level of the south façade. The Queen Anne-style, three-story, single-family residence is San Francisco Landmark No. 54 (Coleman House) and is listed on the Here Today and 1976 Architectural surveys; it is zoned RH-2 (Residential, House, Two-Family) District and is in a 40-X Height and Bulk District.
Preliminary Recommendation: Approval.

The subject property is Landmark No. 107 and is zoned Downtown Office (C-3-O) and is in an 84-X/200-S Height and Bulk District.
Preliminary Recommendation: Approval with Conditions.

It was moved by Board Member Dearman (seconded by Martinez) to continued this item until July 16th hearing. Recommended providing to the Landmarks Board: more color renderings of the building in its context from different angles, a site plan illustrating the footprints of the adjacent properties, a arborist report, a district designation report and to create a materials board of the proposed materials to be used. The vote was unanimous.

The proposal is a Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness for rehabilitation work that includes the addition of one window on the north elevation and a new roof deck on the existing rear addition.

REVIEW AND COMMENT
10. (S. MIDDLEBROOK: 558-6372)
PARKSIDE HISTORIC CONTEXT STATEMENT
Woody LaBounty and Richard Brandi, under a grant from the Historic Preservation Fund Committee, have produced the Historic Context Statement of the Parkside Neighborhood in order to facilitate cultural resource surveys and historic evaluations in the southwest portion of the City. The document defines and describes the cultural and architectural history of the area, property types, and the history of development. The Department seeks the Landmarks Board comment and endorsement of the context statement.

Board Comments
The Landmarks Board members had the following concerns:
- Suggested rethinking the language usage on page 21 (regarding progress movement and treatment of moss roots).
- Suggested changing the word most to much .
- Suggested an introduction statement be included into the noticeable section.
- Recommended providing more information on the Green Brothers.
- Other minor changes will be incorporated into the Context Statement
