1. STAFF REPORT AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
Neil Hart, Chief of Neighborhood Planning & Preservation Coordinator:
i The Landmark Designation for 1101 Taylor Street was approved by the Planning Commission on April 14TH; the next step is the Board of Supervisors.
i Supervisors Alioto-Pier and Peskins introduced legislation amending Planning Code section 1004.2 to allow the Landmarks Board 60 days instead of 30 days in which to make a recommendation to the Planning Commission on proposed landmark designations when the Board of Supervisors initiate the request.
i Staff has been reviewing proposed alterations to the exterior of the building located at 120 Montgomery Street. It is eligible for listing on the California Register. Staff is waiting for a response from the project sponsors to either repair the windows as is or propose a new design that would be acceptable.
2. PRESIDENT'S REPORT AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
Bridget Maley:
The Chronicle reported that there would be a potential of 4 school closures. Two of the schools have potential for being historic buildings. She will be working with school district staff to find out the plans for these buildings upon their closures.
3. MATTERS OF THE BOARD

i He requested to schedule a hearing on DBI enforcement on finding of the Landmark Board. Requested an update on the letter that was sent to Park and Recreation regarding the statue at Golden Gate Park. Requested an update on the preservation element.
Bridget Maley
i She requested a follow-up on outstanding landmarks. She requested how to expedited preparation of the LPAB minutes. Received notice from MEA regarding 1740 20th Street – curious about the formatting of the report. The report has an addendum attached that give specific information about the architect of the building, why wasn't this information included into the body of the main report?

1487 – 1489 MCALLISTER STREET, south side between Scott and Pierce Streets. Assessor's Block 0777, Lot 020 - Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to construct a new garage on the ground floor of a two-story-over-basement, wood frame, two-family residential building built in the late 19th century. The subject property is an Eastlake Stick style, contributory building in the Alamo Square Historic District and is listed in the City's 1976 Architectural Survey. The property is within an RH-3 (House, Three-Family) District and is in a 40-X Height and Bulk District. (Note: Continued from the April 6, 2005 Landmarks Board Hearing)
Preliminary Recommendation: Approval

2151 Van Ness Avenue, St. Brigid Church, southwest corner of Van Ness Avenue and Broadway. Assessor's Block 0575, Lot 15 - The proposal is to designate the property as City Landmark No. 252. Constructed between 1902 and 1904, St. Brigid Church was built in a Richardsonian Romanesque Revival style over several phases. The subject property is within an RC-4 (Residential-Commercial Combined, High Density) District, the Van Ness Avenue Special Use District, and an 80-D Height and Bulk District. Request for the Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board to make a recommendation to the Planning Commission on the proposed landmark designation, which was initiated by the Board of Supervisors on April 1, 2005.
Preliminary Recommendation: Adopt a resolution supporting landmark designation.

900 INNES AVENUE, northeast corner of Innes and Griffith Avenues. Assessor's Block 4646, Lot 003 – The proposal is to designate the property as City Landmark No. 250. On August 25, 2004, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 553-04, initiating the designation of 900 Innes Avenue as a City Landmark. On October 6, 2004, the Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board (Landmarks Board) reviewed the landmark designation and adopted Resolution No. 582, that did not make a recommendation to the Planning Commission on the proposed designation, but rather, recommended that a full Landmarks Designation Report be developed and recommended that the Planning Commission refer the case back to the Landmarks Board when a designation report was developed. The proposed landmark designation was originally scheduled for a Planning Commission hearing on March 3, 2005, but was continued so that the designation report could be referred back to the Landmarks Board for their review and comment. On April 4, 2005, at a public hearing, the Landmarks Board reviewed and commented on the Landmarks Designation Report and forwarded their comments to the Planning Commission. On April 21, 2005, the Planning Commission continued the landmark designation hearing again so that the Landmarks Board could take an action on the designation itself. The purpose of this hearing is for the Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board to make a recommendation to the Planning Commission on the proposed landmark designation and to review any changes to the landmark designation report.

- ZONING ADMINISTRATOR DETERMINATION
The Zoning Administrator seeks the advice of the Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board on whether changes to the scope of the project as executed fall within the scope of work approved under the Certificate of Appropriateness authorization.
