- Reminded the Landmarks Board to turn out their Statements of Economic Interest, due by April 1, 2004.
- Announced the mandatory Annual Sunshine Training, Monday, May 3 at the Herbst Theater, 5:30-8:00 p.m..
- Announced the California Preservation Foundation Conference being held April 28-30 at the Presidio. Attendance at this conference would count as training under the CLG Agreement.
- Informed the Landmarks Board that 690 Market Street is scheduled before the Planning Commission on 3/18/2004.
- Stated that at the last Planning Commission hearing, Commission Bill Lee asked about landmark staffing.

112 COLUMBUS AVENUE, east side of the street at Jackson Street, Assessor's Block 0176, Lot 010, a contributory building to the Jackson Square Historic District. Constructed in 1907, this three-story hotel with ground floor retail is located within the C-2 (Community Business) District and a 65-A Height and Bulk District. Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to remove the existing non-historic storefronts on the Jackson Street elevation and install new storefronts to match the existing historic storefronts on the Columbus Avenue elevation.

Constructed in 1935, this two-story-over-basement, wood frame, Craftsman/2nd Bay Area Tradition style single-family residential building is located within an RH-3 (House, Three-Family) District and a 40-X Height and Bulk District. Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to modify two exterior non-original windows at the front façade of the structure.

Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to install a projecting canvas banner sign.

7. 2002.0268L (M. CORRETTE: 415/558-6295)
165 10th STREET, Lick Baths/ People's Laundry, located on the east side of 10th Street between Mission and Howard Streets. Assessor's Block 3509, Lot 14. The subject property is a one- and two-story brick building, with a brick tower, built in 1890 by the Estate of James Lick as a public bath house, and rebuilt in 1906 in the Renaissance Revival style, and closed as a public bath in 1919. In 1920, the Tsukamoto Family opened the People's Laundry in the building, a family business until 1973. The building is listed in Here Today, in the South-of-Market Area Plan, and in the 1976 Architectural Survey. It is in an SLR (Service Light Industrial, Residential) District, and located in a 50-X Height and Bulk District. Consideration to initiate landmark designation, adopt a resolution initiating and recommending approval of landmark designation to the Planning Commission of 165 10th Street as Landmark No. 246.
