COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Olague, Antonini, Lee and Moore

COMMISSIONER ABSENT: Miguel, Borden and Sugaya

THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY PRESIDENT OLAGUE AT 10:30 A.M.

STAFF IN ATTENDANCE: John Rahaim – Director of Planning, Larry Badiner – Zoning Administrator, Craig Nikitas, Sarah Dennis-Phillips, and Linda Avery – Commission Secretary.

Informational presentations by the Mayor's Director of Climate Protection Initiatives and staff of the Departments of the Environment, of Building Inspection, of Public Works, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, the Port of San Francisco, and the Planning Department, to provide an overview of the City's efforts to promote sustainability and meet San Francisco's goals for mitigating climate change, and to discuss means of intra-agency coordination and public outreach.

Wayne Crowfoot, Director of Mayor's Office on Climate Change Initiatives

- We are very excited to have this hearing to talk about what is happening in the City. There is so much.

- San Francisco can and should be a model of an urban community taking action for climate change.

- Our primary goals is to have a 20% reduction in carbon emissions by year 2012.

- [From there, Mr. Crowfoot and others went on to give a very detailed presentation on the collective city efforts to promote sustainability, mitigate climate change, engage the public, and discuss coordination of efforts amongst city agencies.]
