Jeremy Paul

- In 2005, I had the opportunity to participate in an important project that put San Francisco on the map in the sense of an innovative construction that was called  Scrap House.

- It was shown that a beautiful demonstration building could be made entirely out of reclaimed materials.

- I am here to tell you about a project that is not a demonstration but a remodel of a 2-unit home that is going to be one of the LEED certified homes in the country with the possibility of being the first platinum level.

- I invite the Commissions to be present at 3027 25^th Street and Alabama at 8:30a.m. The Winter Bind Generator is going to be installed at this site.

- Thanked to both Departments for making this happened.

Silvia Johnson

- I just want to get instructions on the 400 impacts of reestablishing and the 1,000 impacts for producing.

- There are areas needing housing, remodeling, air control and to produce the impact of environmental society and to inform from the state of the market value.

- There is a procedure with patience and what the medical and industries being processed as far as establishing different costs.

- This is going to be different for the world and in 2 or 3 years we would go around the world.

Sue Hestor

- I am passing around a copy of intent to adopt mitigated negative declaration for 3120 3^rd Street. This is a challenge to both of the Commissions.

- The University of California is proposing to let a private developer build a building outside of the area. University of California Hasting is exempt form City's processing as long as they own the site and they do not own this one.

A. SPECIAL CALENDAR:

1. Update on Business Process Reengineering (BPR), interdepartmental computer system(s), and departmental processes. Discussion regarding future action steps for ongoing collaboration between departments.

- The stakeholders process really, clearly and very candidly showed the pitfalls and the successes are on both Departments.

- You should consider that while the Director mentioned that there are administrative issues, there is some overlap to the entitlement process.

- There are recommendations that we are making to make sure that you capture certain things early in the process.

- Finally, there is one other thing that plugs both Commissions into this process because you are going to recognize that there are budget concerns.

- We have learned that we are not taking every opportunity for fees and we are making recommendations to scoop that.

- When the next fiscal year budget comes forward, ask the Directors where is the staffing for this BPR because that is the only way that is going to succeed.

Silvia Johnson

- I have being wanting to speak about the computers. They are taking Mr. Brown to coordinate and preparing for the freedom.

- Consider a lot of things that have been going on around miracles in other counties with the proceedings and inspections to make a difference.

- Many people are very disrespectful of my intelligence.

Henry Konolowitz

- I sit on the Inspection Committee for BPR and see participations from the public and stakeholders. It is wonderful and incredible how many people are participating.

- Thanked the Director because it is a wonderful democratic way to do this.

John O'Connel

- We are moving forward and hopefully by the end of the process we will have a much more efficient process.

- Thanked the Director for the invitation to participate.

2. Update regarding seismic safety, tall buildings, and discussion for possible BIC action to determine fire safety measures, Peer Review process, and emergency response.

- The City needs to achieve standards already established by the State.

- Dragging it out further is an endangerment to public safety.

Silvia Johnson

- The Fire Department needs to know to cut the trees for fire to not go into the woods.

- In terms of safety, I was talking about areas where you are driving for techniques and I have been talking to the Police Department on that.

Kalmic Collins

- On December 7 the CAPS issue came out and since then we have a new management at the head of DBI.

- Is the CAPS revitalization included in the plan? It was removed from the Mayor's Office without any explanation.

- The new administration has been here for two years and nothing has happened.

3. Overview of new International Codes to become effective in January, 2008.

- I have something different but I have not worked it out yet.

- I have been working on the airport construction and I am looking into different types of airports that would be much easier for travelers.

Kelmic Collins

- Why San Francisco Codes, Planning and Building, do not allow prefabricated buildings to build in the City? It is much cheaper and less annoying for the neighbors.

- We have very expensive plumbing codes in the City and I think that this is part of some union political interference.

- I would like to know if this International Code has any relation with the so called insurance industry.

- Another issue is the cost of living in the City that needs to be addressed.
