      41 FEDERAL STREET, south side west of Delancey Street, Block 3774, Lot 015 - Request for the Architectural Review Committee review and comment on a proposal to modify the design of a previously approved live/work project that has not completed construction. The property is improved with an auto ramp for the parking at 250 Brannan Street. The property is a non-contributor to the South End Historic District. It is within the SSO (Service Secondary Office) District and a 50-X Height and Bulk District.

At this time, members of the public may address the Landmarks Board on items of interest to the public that are within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Landmarks Board except agenda items. Public comment will be taken on each agendized item. Each member of the public may address the Landmarks Board for up to three minutes. If it is demonstrated that comments by the public will exceed 15 minutes, the President or chairperson may continue Public Comment to another time during the meeting.

The Brown Act forbids a commission or board from taking action or discussing any item not appearing on the posted agenda, including those items raised at public comment. In response to public comment, not on an agendized item, the Board is limited to:

(1) briefly responding to statements made or questions posed by members of the public, or

(2) requesting staff to report back on a matter at a subsequent meeting, or

    5. Action Item: Letter re: Planning Commission hearing on EIR for 1234 Howard Street. The Landmarks Preservation Advisory Board will consider writing a letter to the Planning Commission regarding the historical resources analysis contained in the EIR for 1234 Howard Street so that such a letter may be provided to the Planning Commission in advance of its February 24th hearing on the certification of the EIR for 1234 Howard Street.

Kennedy Drive, plus a perimeter of land around the drives. Assessor's Block 1700, Lot 1. Consideration to initiate landmark designation, adopt a resolution initiating and recommending landmark designation to the Planning Commission, 1000 Great Highway (Golden Gate Park), The Music Concourse as Landmark No. 249.               2400 THIRD STREET, east side between 20th Street and 22nd Street, Block 4108, Lot 003O - Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to install a Wireless Telecommunications Services facility that would include one antenna installed within a flagpole and a second antenna flush mounted to the southern side wall. The subject property is a non-contributor to the Dogpatch Historic District, and was included in the Central Waterfront Survey (National Register Status Code 4D2). It is within the M-2 (Heavy Commercial) District and a 50-X Height and Bulk District.

              Preliminary Recommendation: Approval

    8. 2004.077A (E. TOPE: 415/558-6316)

      818 STEINER STREET, east side between Grove and Fulton Streets. Assessor's Block 0798, Lot 012 - Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to construct a new front stair and a one-story two-car garage with a deck, in the front yard and a deck with stairs in the rear yard of a three-story, single-family, wood frame, residential building built in the late 19th century. The subject property is a Queen Anne style, contributory building in the Alamo Square Historic District and is listed in the City's 1976 Architectural Survey. The property is within an RH-3 (House, Three-Family) District and is in a 40-X Height and Bulk District.

              Preliminary Recommendation: Approval

      2160 GREEN STREET, The Sherman House north side between Webster and Fillmore Streets. Assessor's Block 0540, Lot 030. Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to make minor alterations to doors and windows on the east, north and south elevations of the main house. The subject property is Landmark Number 49, a four-story, Italianate wood frame residence built in 1876-1877. It is zoned RH-2 (House, Two-Family) District and is in a 40-X Height and Bulk District.

      Preliminary Recommendation: Approval with conditions

      88 5TH STREET, Old San Francisco United States Mint, Assessor's Block 3704, Lot 011, bounded by Mint Street on the north, 5th Street on the east, Mission Street on the south and Jessie Street on the west - Informational Presentation on a proposed project that would rehabilitate the existing historic structure into the City History Museum with secondary uses being retail, restaurant and offices. The existing building will be retained, and generally, the historic building envelope will not be expanded; however, additional square footage and an additional story will be added within the existing courtyard, and a glass roof would be installed over the court yard to protect the exhibits and activities below. The subject building was designated as San Francisco Landmark No. 236. It is zoned P (Public Use) District and is in a 40-X Height and Bulk District. The Old Mint constructed between 1869 and 1874, its history is has had various uses and has been vacant since 1994.

NOTE: Material submitted by the public for Landmarks Board review prior to a scheduled hearing, should be received at the Planning Department Reception Counter, 1660 Mission Street, 5th Floor, no later than 5:00 p.m. the Tuesday (eight (8) days) prior to the scheduled public hearing. Persons unable to attend a hearing may submit written comments regarding a calendared item to the Board at the above listed address. CELL PHONE AND/OR SOUND-PRODUCING ELECTRONIC DEVICE USAGE AT HEARINGS

Effective January 21, 2001, the Board of Supervisors amended the Sunshine Ordinance by adding the following provision: The ringing of and use of cells phones, pagers and similar sound-producing electronic devices are prohibited at this meeting. Please be advised that the Chair may order the removal from the meeting room of any person(s) responsible for the ringing or use of a cell phone, pager, or other similar sound-producing electronic devices (67A.1 Prohibiting the use of cell phone, pager, or other similar sound-producing electronic devices at and during public meetings).

ACCESSIBLE MEETING POLICY

Hearings are held at City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, Room 400, Fourth Floor, San Francisco, CA. The closest accessible BART Station is the Civic Center Station located at the intersection of Market, Hyde and Grove Streets. Accessible curb side parking has been designated at points along McAllister Street. Accessible MUNI Lines serving City Hall are the 9 San Bruno, 47 and 49 Lines and 71 Haight/Noriega and the F Line. Accessible MUNI Metro Lines are the J, K, L, M, and N at the Van Ness Muni Station at Van Ness Avenue and Market Street. For more information regarding MUNI accessible services, call (415) 923-6142.

Requests for American sign language interpreters , sound enhancement system and/or language translators will be available upon request by contacting Lulu Hwang at (415) 558-6418, at least 48 hours prior to a hearing. A sound enhancement system will be available upon request at the meetings.
