Meeting started 6:10 PM.

10 Task Force members present

Committee discussed various alternatives at length for controlling

development of "box retail" in West SOMA - continuing discussions of January

and February meetings.

Motion to prohibit future development of box retail in West SOMA larger than

10,000 sq ft did not pass. Vote was 4 for, 6 against.

Motion to prohibit future development of box retail in West SOMA larger than

25,000 sq ft passed. Vote was 10 for, 0 against. Recommended to next full

Task Force meeting for action.

Committee then discussed various possible regulations to control the

density, location, and/or type of box retail that would be allowable. No

action was taken, topic will be further discussed at the May Committee

meeting.

Committee did not discuss possible requirements for community benefits,

design requirements, and/or impact mitigations. This will also be discussed

at the May Committee meeting.
